Framing Day 2

They were out there working hard again today on framing the house. It seems that the first couple days always seem to take the most time for the smallest amount of visible progress. But getting the first floor right is crucial since everything else sits on top of it.

They managed to finish the first floor sub-floor today (for the most part). They also started building the other walls for the garage which you can see laying around the construction site. And they built the cantilever (no foundation under them) sections as well which will support the extension of the kitchen and the fire place.

Here are some picture of the progress today, KiDahn is sitting in the sunroom as usual in this picture:

This picture is taken from the front porch:

And this one is taken from the front corner of what will be the office:

This picture is taken from the back corner of the kitchen, I'm looking into the living room here and the sunroom is to the right:

In this picture I am standing in the back of the sunroom looking toward where the front door will be:

And in this picture I am standing in the back corner of the living room:

Here is the usual panorama from the east side, you can see several walls laying around that they have started to frame up:

And here is the view from the back:

It doesn't look like much happened other than putting in the subfloor but you will also notice toward the front of the house there is a work bench and a lot of wood pieces. These are actually the beginnings of doors, windows and other wall components. So they built a lot of building blocks today it seems.

I'm not sure if they will work tomorrow or not. The weather is still looking good for next week so they may take the day off knowing they have good weather ahead, or maybe they will also take advantage of the good weather we should have tomorrow. I'll let you all know!
