Framing Day 1

Today they finally started framing! They were supposed to start on Monday, but at least they seem to be moving along now. Today they delivered our roof trusses:

And they installed the steel posts that sit on the footers and hold up the steel I-beams which they also finished installing:

You can see that they started to install the floor joists, they are not quite finished with this but they should be able to finish tomorrow. Also they roughed in the opening which will be the basement stairs:

They also started building the walls for the third stall in the garage:

Here you can see the whole lot from the east side as well as a couple of views from the back:

Here is a picture of KiDahn and I, we are standing in the middle of the garage:

And one more picture to show that the wood pile is starting to dwindle a little bit. Bonus points if you can spot KiDahn hiding in the pile:

And that is it for the day. A lot happened and hopefully we will see some walls start to go up by the weekend. Things start to move very quickly from here forward as long as weather holds up and contractors show up when they are scheduled to. The weather over the next week is looking really good with no rain in sight for the moment. When the framers get going and have good weather we have seen them frame entire houses in less than a week. So we may even see the second story start to go up by the middle of next week.
