Paint, and Double Oven Delivery

Well they finally painted the house and it looks really great....and very white!

The big package sitting in the living room is actually our double oven, hard to see through all the wrapping though:

And that's all for today. We will see what tomorrow brings. We aren't really sure of the order in which things still need to happen, but some of the items still to be check off the list are:
Final electrical
Final Plumbing
Final mechanical
Air conditioner install
quarter round trim around baseboard where there is hardwood
new cabinet for double oven
shower door
toilets
sinks
Insulation in the basement
Finishing up the siding around the garage
garage door openers
carpet
granite
Caulking around windows on the exterior
pouring sidewalks
final grade
gutters

And probably a whole bunch of stuff that I am forgetting but needs to get done.

Paint Prep, Columns Fixed, Sidewalk Prep and an inside the park home run.

Well that was interesting first inning, let hope we can keep that up.

Today they still didn't paint....I know right? But they did finally do all the prep work for it:

So...I'm pretty sure they will paint tomorrow.....maybe.

They also delivered all of our electrical, lights etc.:

The lights that come with the house are pretty boring, but they make light so they will do for now.

The brick mason came back today and redid our front columns, they were too short:

And they started to prep for our sidewalks today. This includes a rough initial grading of our lot as well:

Further proof that Jacob needs a snowblower.

There is still a slim chance that they won't be able to pour the sidewalks until the spring. Tomorrows weather is no good, but toward the end of the week and especially the beginning of next week they may have a chance to get it done. We are hoping so because if they can do this then they can also do final grade which means the house will be 100% done when we move in and we can do landscaping whenever we want to start.

Hardwood Day 2

Ok, good news and bad news: Good news, they finished our hardwood floors, bad news is that you can't see any of it because it is being protected by cardboard:

From what we saw Friday though they did a really good job.

We talked with our construction manager a little this afternoon as well. It is going to be a very busy two weeks. Paint tomorrow followed by final mechanical and plumbing through the end of the week and next. Carpets, cabinet repair and granite probably beginning of next week as well as final electrical. From the sound of it the house will be 99% done by the end of next week. Crazy right? As a reminder our first walk through of the completed house will be in just 19 days.

Hardwood Install Day 1

Well, they didn't do any painting today, which kind of blows my mind. But they did start to install the hardwood floors:

I'd say they got about half of the way done. The whole hallway is complete as is the downstairs bathroom. However they haven't finished the office, living room, kitchen or sunroom yet. Probably one more day of work and it will all be done though. We will check back tomorrow to see if they are working on it.

Nothing new today

Unfortunately it looks like nothing was done around the house today. Hopefully they finish painting tomorrow.

Painting Day 1 and Brick Wash

Today they did something called a brick wash. I don't know if you can tell from the photos but the brick is much cleaner now. They basically scrub the entire outside of the house to get all the excess mortar off and make all of the mortar lines even:

They also started painting. They were still working on it while KiDahn was there to take pictures, but it seems like today they painted all the trim and doors. I think they will go back over the whole house tomorrow:

And that is all for today. Hopefully the house will be all painted and ready for some floors by tomorrow.
